Get the free appThis calculator uses the standard pot-based skins model. Every player buys in for the skin value × the number of holes (at $1 skins over 18 holes, that's $18 each). Each skin won pays the skin value × the number of players — with 4 players, every skin is worth $4. Ties carry over: when a hole ties, its skin stacks onto the next hole, so count carried skins toward whoever finally sweeps them. Unresolved skins are refunded: if the round ends on a tie streak, that money goes back to all players equally — nobody wins a hole nobody actually won.

Each player buys in for the skin value times the number of holes. Every skin won pays the skin value times the number of players. Holes that end the round tied (unresolved carryovers) are refunded equally to every player. A player's net is their winnings plus refunds minus their buy-in.
If the final holes tie and carryovers never resolve, those skins are pushed. The fairest common treatment is refunding that money equally to all players rather than awarding it — and that's how this calculator handles it.
Common stakes are $1 to $5 per skin for casual groups and $10 to $25 for more competitive games. With 4 players at $1 per skin over 18 holes, each player buys in $18 and a single skin pays $4.
The calculator nets every player's winnings, refunds, and buy-in into one number, then matches the players who owe money with the players who are owed, producing the minimum set of payments. The Duck Hook Golf app does this automatically during the round and settles over Venmo.
